Okay, new direction (again)

It’s come to my attention that I’ve been trying to do something that I didn’t really want to do in the first place. Yes, I do want to entertain people, but I just don’t have the desire or drive to create an ongoing webcomic or photoblog. Nor do I want to spend hours and hours online searching for items to make fun of. There are several sites that already do that, and some of them do it quite well.

So what do I want to write? Any- and everything. But mostly stuff about writing.

My ultimate goal in life is to publish my novels. It’s a goal that I share with millions of people worldwide, except that I’m very serious about it. I’ve been studying the publishing industry, authors, and the writing process for years. I’m even working on a few projects right now (none that I will reveal to the public at this time).

I want to write about authors, publishing trends, books I’ve enjoyed and hated, writing styles I admire and loathe, the process of writing and the feelings–joy and fear–that accompany it. I want to write about what helps, what doesn’t, music to listen to while writing or brainstorming, and channels of inspiration. It’s something that I can keep up with, naturally.

So. A writing blog? Updated at least weekly?

Yeah, I can do it.
